The MoleMed Experience - Getting Technical

A full scan takes about one hour and is completely painless (just photography).

Next, we scan each mole/lesion using a specialised technique called Digital Epiluminence light Microscopy (DELM).

Using this world leading technology developed by MoleMax, we are able to not only look at the skin surface but we can also view and image the sub-surface layers of the skin (hidden layers below).

The method of enlarging and layering images (epiluminescence microscopy) opens up a new view of the skin so we can see new features, colours and patterns invisible with traditional skin surface microscopy.

Today it is the proven tool for the very early detection of malignant melanomas and so allows you the comfort of knowing that we know the difference between moles that are harmless and those that are not.

DELM enables you to look at the layers below the surface of the skin.

  • Earlier detection of malignant melanoma has every opportunity of a complete cure
  • Knowing the difference between tumours that are harmless and those that are not, saves you unnecessary invasive surgery AND saves lives.
